Water Street Barn is a community outlet for music, theatre, written & visual arts in the village of Shelburne Fall/Buckland, Massachusetts. Local artists, as well as visiting professionals, share their work in performances, workshops & lessons with community members & visitors to the Hilltowns. In the Fall of 2018, Water Street Barn began offering house concerts with local artists, music lessons & Piti Theatre Co shows (ptco.org). The goal is to bring together artists & community members in an admission-free, friendly setting (tho' tipping the artists is welcomed).
We were moving along sweetly until March 2020 when all live venues shut down! Happily, by late summer, we were hosting live music in the open air on the Water St Lawn! Then in 2022, Massachusetts Cultural Council afforded WSB, & its community, a Recovery Grant to install new windows & air purifiers. So now, we can have both Barn and Lawn concerts.
And we are delighted to join in local festivals such as Shelburne Falls Porch Fest, Moonlight Magic, Pride Fest, The Village of Flowers Initiative, & the Floodwater Songwriting Weekend. Please stay tuned for more house (barn!) concerts & creative workshops!
And if artists or audience members would like to contribute to the Barn's maintenance - utility costs, plowing the walkway & such, they can via out fiscal sponsor, Fractured Atlas: https://fundraising.fracturedatlas.org/water-street-barn-and-studio/general_support/
